Games of the Pokemon series are the most popular games for the Game boy Advance around the world.
The ground of the series is similar to the play when children catching lightning bugs in a bottle, but here you have little monsters instead of lightning bugs and you train those little monsters to battle each other in competitions. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the game along with battling with your friends and the computer alike is the trading of pokemon that is encouraged. Testing your skill as a trainer and as a fair sport is one of the main draws of the series.
Originally it was started out by Satoshi Tajiri in 1975 and it was called Capsule Monsters. The series was rather unsuccessful and discontinued due to this fact. Around 1991 Satoshi Tajiri started talk with Nintendo for using his project for the Game Boy.
Finally with the help of his new friend Shigeru Miyamoto he succeeded to agree with Nintendo to accept his offer. The game was finally picked up by Nintendo and initially was released in Japan as Pocket Monsters in 1996. Since that time the phenomenon known now as Pokemon has exploded across the planet, drawing children and adults alike.
The series has a number of different titles for the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, and Nintendo DS. The games have a suffix of a color, precious metal, or precious gem, such as Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow for the Game Boy.
The Game Boy Color has series of Gold, Silver, and Crystal.
The third generation of games introduced a number of new features, including more detailed weather conditions, the new villains of Team Magma and Team Aqua, contests, and new abilities for each pokemon. Also introduced was the concept of natures for each. They came in the form of Ruby, Sapphire but shortly after that, Emerald was released, which introduced the ability to rebattle gym leaders, animations for all pokemon (like in Crystal).
The first two games in the first generation, Red and Green, were remade as FireRed and LeafGreen for the Game Boy Advance. The main features were enhanced graphics, gameplay, and a new area called the Sevii Islands.
The fourth generation of games consists of Diamond and Pearl that were released release by 2007. One of the noticeable additions to both of these games is Pokemon genders.
The Pokemon games are used on all Nintendo systems, but the classics will always be on the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance.
